St. Maximilian Kolbe

A Conventual Franciscan and founder of the Militia Immaculatae who, deported to the Auschwitz death camp, surrendered himself to the executioners in place of a fellow prisoner, offering his ministry as a holocaust of charity and fidelity to God and men.
