St. Lawrence

Deacon and Martyr · 225–258

A Roman deacon who, ordered to hand over the treasures of the Church, presented the poor as its true treasure. After three days he overcame the flames for the faith of Christ, and his body was laid to rest in the cemetery in the field of Verano.
