St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein)
Virgin and Martyr · 1891–1942
Born and raised in the Jewish religion, she professed philosophy for several years before her conversion to Christ through baptism, continuing her new life as a Discalced Carmelite. Exiled under a nefarious regime, she was killed at Auschwitz.
